Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Monday, March 2nd 2015 [ME NewsWire]

Within the scheduled events for the 31st GCC Traffic Week, a total of 25 schools from the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) will showcase the diverse creative ideas from their students. The Traffic Week, held under the slogan “Your Choice Determines Your Destiny”, was organized by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police and will take place at Yas Mall from 8-14 March, 2015.

Captain Aisha Mohammed Al Zaabi, Traffic Awareness Officer in the Public Relations Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, indicated that the student participation comes in line with the strategic partnership between the Directorate and ADEC to promote traffic safety in the educational sector and to establish a high level of traffic culture amongst current and future students as a key part of the general culture.

Moreover, she stressed the importance of activating the participation of the educational sector in traffic awareness during the Traffic Week. “Participation will encourage further initiatives that will enhance the efforts of the ADP and raise the level of awareness around prevention by applying modern educational concepts and interactive teaching methods that are in accordance with the most advanced international standards in the fields of awareness,” she said.

Adding further, Captain Al Zaabi noted that the students’ participation includes the presentation of musical and theatrical numbers about traffic safety and poem recitations. The intention of the activities is to motivate students to further develop their creative ideas, so as to contribute to opening up new doors for the current efforts to reduce traffic accidents.

Concluding, Captain Al Zaabi called upon all segments of society to join forces and to intensify their efforts in order to address the risks of traffic accidents. She confirmed the need to follow the community-based efforts of various entities to reduce fatalities, maintain public and private property, and spread traffic awarenessst among all segments of society.
