ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, January 18th 2015 [ME NewsWire]
Colonel Mohammed Ahmed Al Hosani, Deputy Head of the Social Support Centers Department at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, urged parents to learn of the intricacies of their children’s lives and to follow-up with them on a daily basis. “Parents should create and open the channels of communication with their children and have effective conversations with them. By doing so, parents can protect their children and ensure their safety and wellbeing – for they are the true treasure of any national gain.”
These remarks will be included in the radio address that will be broadcast live on Monday by Colonel Mohammed Ahmed Al Hosani, on behalf of the Social Support Centers Department at Abu Dhabi Police. It falls in line with the ‘Security Glances’ Campaign organized by the Radio Branch at the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
Colonel Al Hosani said: “Children of all ages need to be able to communicate with their parents so parents are able to identify their psychological and social needs. Parents need to be involved in their children’s lives and to show love and acceptance through a number of social activities with their children throughout their education and upbringing.”
He stressed the importance of protecting children through the provision of parental support and pointed out the concerted efforts of the community organizations to carry out awareness campaigns aimed at parents and their children highlighting the potential dangers children may encounter. “Overall, it is the parent’s responsibility to provide the proper care in raising their children, and to act as a role model for them in all aspects of life,” he said.
