Major General Al Shareefi Chairs Police Operations Meeting in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, March 16th 2016 [ME NewsWire]

Major General Maktoum Ali Al Shareefi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized the importance of keeping track with the different plans and projects and examining the latest developments and improvement mechanisms. He also stressed the need to provide all forms of support and assistance to ensure that work teams are capable of overcoming any obstacles and difficulties, in line with the approved plans. “This would ensure high-quality results and top-level performance, and enhance the civilized image of Abu Dhabi police, which embody the widespread development and progress achieved in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,” he said.

These remarks were made by Major General Al Shareefi during his visit to the General Directorate of Police operations. Major General Al Shareefi chaired the directors and directorates’ meeting, which was attended by Major General Omair Muhammad Ateeq Al Muhairi, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, alongside a number of directors general. The meeting was held to discuss strategies and initiatives related to police operations, and ways to improve work mechanisms, in a way that is consistent with the strategic plan of Abu Dhabi Police. Other topics on the agenda tackled the development of improvement opportunities and ways to encourage excellence and innovation and promote the culture of innovation and teamwork amongst staff members.

Major General Al Shareefi stressed the need to exert tremendous efforts and to provide the necessary resources to ensure the highest levels of performance. He also called for encouraging work teams to submit purposeful and feasible ideas and proposals, and to recognize staff members of great initiative to be a role model for their colleagues, and to spread the culture of excellence and provision of innovative ideas.

Major General Al Shareefi emphasized the need to seek further development to enhance the quality of services provided to the public, taking into account the time of delivery to save time and effort of customers while they visit the different police stations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He also called for improving the quality of field work, and boosting the skills of field personnel, so as to reflect the image of the modern police officer, capable of performing the various tasks and duties entrusted to him skillfully and efficiently. In conclusion, Major General Al Shareefi conveyed the thanks and appreciation of the police leadership to staff members of police operations for their efforts that have had a positive impact on ensuring the success of the contingency plan established to face the storm that recently lashed the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. “These efforts reflected the competence and high professionalism of the different police entities in handling emergency situations, in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation with the competent public safety authorities and strategic partners,” he said.
