This announcement was made by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations, and Chairman of the E-transformation Higher Committee. He also explained that the MoI has launched an array of services via smartphone applications that would significantly reduce the burden on customers, citizens and residents alike. Major General Dr. Al Raisi said, “The MoI is seeking a complete revamp in the way it delivers its services to the public; in line with its commitment to streamline and facilitate all procedures in a safe manner, using the person’s identity card.  A call center is also available round the clock to provide assistance to members of the public, and respond to all inquiries on 8005000. A technical team is also available 24/7 and can be contacted via on mobile@moi.gov.ae, and via the e-services e-mail: eservices@moi.gov.ae.” Major General Dr. Al Raisi also noted that MoI’s services encompass all UAE emirates and service centers.

For his part, Colonel Barakat Yaaqoub Al Kendi, Chief of the Systems Development Section, and Chairman of the Executive Committee at the MoI, indicated that the MoI is about to initiate a revolutionary change in the way it provides electronic and smart services. “The ministry is also working on changing certain service procedures; an effort that brings many challenges, because the MoI provides security and information-related services to all society segments,” he noted. He also explained that work is currently underway to develop all services portals commensurate with the Federal Government’s requirements.

Discussing the technical aspect of the smart applications, First Lieutenant Mohammed Darwish Al Balouki, Analysis and Development Branch Manager and Head of the Technical Team in charge of developing the smartphone applications at the MoI, said that the MoI has provided all necessary technical capacities to provide, protect, and develop e-services for the benefit of community members, both in English and Arabic.

“Our services are designed for senior people, people with special needs and children,” explained First Lieutenant Al Balouki. In conclusion, he noted, “To use the applications, people can check the registration walkthrough that will guide them through the process of web registration available on social media websites; YouTube and Facebook, and the MoI’s website www.moi.gov.ae, through the search keyword UAE –MOI, and all smartphone and tablet platforms.”
