The Ministry of Interior (MoI) participated in the “Earth Hour 2016” event by turning off the lights in a number of affiliated buildings. The participation in the event comes as part of the global campaign that aims to raise awareness about global warming, energy saving, and environmental protection.

He noted that the participation embodies the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s desire to apply the best green practices, preserve the environment, prevent pollution, and promote environmental performance nationwide.

“This participation highlights the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s leading role as a distinguished governmental entity that sets an example for other governmental institutes, especially in relation to social and environmental responsibilities,” he added. “This participation helps preserve natural resources to support sustainability for future generations. The Abu Dhabi Police have adopted a series of mechanisms and policies related to reducing the consumption of water, electricity, fuel, and paper usage.”
