The Region’s Foremost Platform for Security and National Resilience to kick off next week in Abu Dhabi

Under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the events of the seventh edition of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016) will kick off next Tuesday, March 15th. Organized by the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with Reed Exhibitions-Middle East, the ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 will be held over the course of three days at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Center (ADNEC) from 15 – 17 March.

Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Vice Chairman of ISNR’s Higher Organizing Committee, said: “The exhibition is a prominent international event in the field of security and safety in the Middle East and North Africa. It provides public and private sector decision-makers with the latest in security technology, critical infrastructure protection, emergency preparedness and response, and risk prevention. He said: “ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 is an important platform to exchange ideas and experiences; to follow up on the latest achievements in the fields of security and an opportunity to examine the latest developments in terms of advanced devices, equipment and solutions used in the fields of security and safety.”

Major General Dr. Al Raisi, also noted that this international biannual event, hosted by the UAE, has become an important platform to meet the growing global demand for homeland security solutions, and support governments in the Middle East as they endeavor to protect their citizens and national critical infrastructure facilities, and to ensure stability in the region. He pointed out that hosting the world’s largest homeland security and national resilience event in Abu Dhabi is testament to the international prestigious status of the UAE and its leading global role as a mega global conferences & exhibitions organizer.

Major General Dr. Al Raisi explained that the ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 opening ceremony will feature a world-class live edutainment performance titled "The Aftershock II”.  The show will shed light on one of the exciting and innovative scenarios in emergency response and public safety readiness. “The show will continue for three days. On the second day, the Sixth International Cybercrime Conference (IC3) and the Occupational Safety and Health -Middle East Conference (OSHME) will be held, during which participants will be able to communicate and exchange best practices with top international experts in this field.

For his part, Ara Fernezian, Divisional Managing Director at Reed Exhibitions Middle East, said: “Across the three packed exhibition days, nearly 20,000 attendees from more than 90 countries are expected to attend and experience industry-leading solutions from 500 exhibiting countries across 45 countries in the upcoming International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR 2016) in Abu Dhabi.  The event will feature a total net space 20,000 sq m at ADNEC, to cater five exhibitions, , more than 60 seminars and 10 live featured events and simulation demonstrations on emergency preparedness and disaster prevention; it will also feature a wide range of innovative security solutions.”

He added that prominent UAE national companies will be participating in the 2016 edition of ISNR, notably: Etisalat; Business Automation And Security Systems; Atlas Group, Itimad Holdings; Exclusive Networks Middle East; Emirates Defense Industries Company (EDIC); Al Awael Est.; TechWise; Electronic Identity Management and Security Solution (EIMASS); , Al Hamra Trading Est.Arabian Security Devices & Equipment Trading;  Falcon Eye Technology LLC; Eye on Technology; Qartaja Trading Est.; Concorde-Corodex Group; international Golden Group; Tawazun Safety Security and Disaster Management City (JAHEZIYA); Naffco; Hader Security and Communication System L.L.C.;  and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

Moreover, Fernezian stressed that the exhibition provides strong business opportunities for national and multinational companies operating in the Middle East, in a wide array of areas, including cyber security, homeland security, emergency response and workplace safety. He noted that the event is expected to be “the most active and interactive event” and will feature a flurry of national, specialized, new and expanded events, conferences, exhibitions and pavilions."

Fernezian also pointed out to the exhibitions that will be organized under the umbrella of the event, notably: ISNR Exhibition, Infosecurity Middle East, a launch event from Infosecurity Europe; in addition to 40 technical security workshops that will be held in collaboration with global cybersecurity specialist (ISC)2, Emergency Response and Disaster Prevention Exhibition, Firefighting Middle East, and Occupational Safety and Health Middle East.

Divisional Managing Director at Reed Exhibitions Middle East also noted the ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 will include several new events and new pavilions such as the Future of Policing Pavilion and the Innovation Podium, which will provide a specialized platform to review the latest products, solutions and services. The new events also include various shows such as the Police Dogs K9 demonstrations, and firefighting shows that will be held on the sidelines of the UAE World Firefighter Challenge. An area will be designated for the live shows of the Occupational Safety and Health Middle East. Other events include MoI classic car exhibition, and other specialized vehicles show, photo gallery, in addition to launching ISNR Innovative Ideas Awards 2016.

He also noted that ISNR 2016 builds on the achievements of the 2014 record-breaking edition of the event, which featured the signing of more than USD 300 million worth of agreements and deals. This indicates the strong commercial opportunities provided by the event, which is expected to host more than 3000 scheduled meetings between buyers from government and private sector buyers and exhibitors. This fall within the framework of the ‘Tawassul’ program that hosts 120 governmental buyers. To support local business, the event will also be hosting over 30 small and medium-sized Emirati companies at a special national pavilion.

It is worth mentioning that the MoI’s pavilion at ISNR 2016 will cover a total area of 1500 square meters. The MoI will be displaying its electronic and smart applications and services, in addition to cutting edge technologies, services, and solutions utilized at various police departments, in the field of national security, information security, and resilience.

Lt. Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the MoI’s Smart Government Program, and Chairman of the MoI pavilion Committee, noted that the MoI participation at the exhibition is in response to the directives of the police leadership, which believes in the importance of taking part in international exhibition to showcase the latest equipment, devices, and modern technologies utilized by the various security bodies. The participation also reflects the MoI’s firm commitment to assume its responsibility in fostering safety and security and achieving the highest levels of safety in the country. It also reflects the MoI’s commitment to keep pace with the latest developments in terms of modern equipment and devices to ensure safety and security.

Lt. Colonel Al Shimmari also noted that through this participation at ISNR, the MoI aims to provide a comprehensive international platform to introduce modern solutions in national and information security, safety, and resilience. He also explained that the MoI’s Number 2 pavilion will be showcasing, its electronic and smart applications and services, modern systems and police programs, replicas, simulation systems, and modern vehicles and bikes used for police work, in collaboration with the police general headquarters in the country.

Lt. Colonel Al Shimmari also pointed out to the importance of ISNR 2016 as a platform to gather local, regional and international delegates and representatives specialized in disaster prevention, management, and recovery. They will review modern technologies and integrated solutions for disaster management, borders security, communication, information and risk assessment, information security, emergency response, infrastructure protection, and anti-terrorism.

He also asserted that the Ministry of Interior is tasked with fostering awareness about national security, safety, and resilience, especially with the growing threat of electronic crimes. The MoI also introduces the optimal ways and methods to counter these risks and limit their effects by providing a platform of dialogue; exchanging experiences, scientific and technological knowledge related to information security; and spreading information security awareness and culture in various fields, including the business community, vital infrastructure, and geographical information system (GIS).
