Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (“Takeda”) announces that it has received clearance from the European Commission (the “EC”) for the proposed acquisition of Shire plc (“Shire”) announced on May 8, 2018 (the “Acquisition”).

The EC’s approval is conditional on Takeda and Shire fulfilling commitments given to the EC in connection with the clearance.
