Al Sha’far Attends Graduation of Recruits’ Course No. 66 at the Police School in Sharjah

Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, attended the graduation ceremony of the 66th Basic Training Course for police recruits. The course was attended by 103 recruits at the Federal Police School in Sharjah.

In his speech at the ceremony, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior stressed that the UAE has become a safe haven and an oasis of security and stability for all, thanks to the right approach and wise strategies adopted by its higher leadership. He noted that the security and stability enjoyed by the UAE are essential components for development and progress. They also represent the bastion that protects the sustainability of the country’s national gains and development achievements; in light of the changes and developments taking place in the region.

Lieutenant General Al Sha’far added” Under the directives of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Ministry of Interior is keen to providing the police and security bodies and personnel with the necessary resources and modern equipment that would allow them to carry out their tasks and duties in the best way possible.

Moreover, he explained that the Ministry is constantly and diligently seeking to develop the abilities of its staff members of various ranks and from the various police GHQs and departments; using systematized work plan and clear programs, commensurate with the changes that are occurring locally, regionally and globally. “Attaining this objective can be achieved by adopting practical methods and modern courses that are designed as per the latest methodologies in planning, implementation, training, as well as field and operational experience,” he continued.

Adding further, Lieutenant General Al Sha’far said: “Promoting  confidence in the ability of police entities to maintain their distinguished status and leading role in the service of society is the result of the valuable efforts made by the police academies, colleges, institutes, and schools to support the ministry with highly qualified and skilled young national cadres, and by qualifying human cadres to cater to the workforce needs of the various police and security bodies in the country; and enable them to play their part in promoting safety, security and peace of mind.”

He also noted that the advanced level attained by the Federal Police School is a true reflection of the efforts exerted by its officials and supervisors, and of their commitment to adopt the latest means of training in preparing highly qualified and competent national cadres.

Furthermore, Lieutenant General Al Sha’far called upon the graduates to avail of the knowledge and skills they have acquired at school; to embrace methods of teamwork with their colleagues; strengthen the spirit of competition and perseverance in their endeavor to reach the coveted aspirations; and always seek to achieve leadership by pursuing further scientific attainment and knowledge.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Major General Humaid Al Hadidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police; Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai; and a number of police leaders, senior officers from the Ministry of Interior, members of the teaching and training staff at the Federal Police School, and a large number of the graduates’ parents.

  The graduation ceremony began with the entry of the graduates’ ceremonial field line-up. Then, the leader of the line-up asked Lt. General Al Sha’far, sponsor of the ceremony, for permission to begin the graduation ceremony.   In his address on this occasion, Brigadier Ahmed Abdullah Al Hajri, Director of the Federal Police School, stressed the keenness of the School’s administration to forge ahead and exert further efforts to keep pace with the development and modernization drive, in pursuance of the ministry's strategy.   He said: “The achievements of the Police School speak for themselves. The figures and outcomes achieved reflect the prestigious state of security and stability enjoyed by the country, which have led to building a modern police force that avails of sound strategic scientific and systematic planning, and keeps abreast of the rapid developments and changes taking place in the modern world.”   Adding further, the Director of the Federal Police School highlighted the efforts of the school in qualifying loyal national cadres, who endeavor resolutely and efficiently to eradicate all types  of crime and to protect the community from their negative effects. “This objective is achieved through the diverse plans and modernization processes that seek to upgrade the levels of trainers and lecturers; and through constant upgrading of training and teaching programs,” he continued.

Brigadier Al Hajiri also noted that thanks to the support and attention of the higher leadership, the Ministry of Interior and the various police bodies have become the most important pillars that support the construction and development efforts in the country. “Our police staff members have undergone an extensive learning process as students, and now thanks to the significant support dedicated to the ministry by the leadership, our Emirati cadres have become trainers, teachers, and experts at our prestigious police institutes, academies, colleges and schools. The ministry’s staff members are presently active supporters of the international efforts in the field of rescue and protection operations, among others,” he added.

In conclusion, Brigadier Al Hajri expressed his heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to all those who contributed efforts to make this course a success. Moreover, he congratulated the graduates, urging them to place development, progress and protection of their country at the top of their priorities, and to work hard and diligently to serve their country.

Towards the end of the ceremony, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, accompanied by Brigadier Ahmed Abdullah Al Hajri, Director of the Federal Police School distributed prizes to the top achieving students. It is worth mentioning that cadet Aamer Hassan ranked first in the overall score and first in theoretical materials; cadet Tareq Mohammed Ali ranked first in infantry; cadet Ahmed Rashid Salem ranked first in weaponry; cadet Mohammed Musa Mohammed ranked first in shooting; cadet Salmeen Feiruz Salmeen ranked first in sports; and cadet Ahmed Ibrahim Saif ranked first in leadership skills.
