INTERPA Conference Discusses Virtual Training and Skill Development

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, May 26th 2015 [ME NewsWire]

The fourth annual INTERPA Conference (International Association of Police Academies) hosted two sessions to discuss eight specialized papers regarding topics related to elevating training systems and skill development. The conference, which is organized by the Police College as representatives of the Ministry of Interior, is being held at the Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Hotel.

The first session, where participants discussed four of the papers, was chaired by Justin Choy from South Korea. Zaher Sabah, director of the Palestine College for Police Sciences (PCPS) in Palestine, presented the first paper about the Palestinian experience in leadership, management, and community police. Joseph Mogory, from Dar es Salaam Police Academy in Tanzania, presented the second paper that discussed promoting police professionalism by training the Tanzanian community police.  Major Dr. Mansour Nasser Al Razzuqi, from the Virtual Application Development Center at Dubai Police, presented the third paper entitled “Virtual Training in Dubai Police”. Captain Tareq Juma Al Junaibi, from the Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, presented the fourth paper that discussed the topic of “Community Police: Elevating the levels of security in Abu Dhabi through problem solving”.

The second session, which discussed the remaining four papers, was chaired by Dr. Fahad Ahmed Al-Shalan from Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS). HE Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, presented the fifth paper entitled, “Enabling Crime Management and Efficient Police Commands”. First Lieutenant Expert Ghaida’ Ali Abdullah from the Forensic and Cyber Crime Lab at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Abu Dhabi Police presented the sixth paper entitled “Digital Forensic Lab and Cyber Crime in Abu Dhabi”. Lt. Col. Dr. Nasser Mohammad Al Baker, Director of Postgraduate Studies at the Police College, presented the seventh paper that discussed the topic of developing security skills when dealing with social media. Fatima Al Thani and Zain Al Shamili from the Ministry of Interior of Bahrain, presented the fourth paper entitled “Training as a key element in managing event gatherings: an analytic study of the Formula 1 experience in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
