The Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, represented by the Radio Branch, will be launching a Ramadan poetry contest as of Sunday via Emarat FM radio.
Ms. Alia Atiq Al Rumaithi, Radio Branch Manager at the Security Media Department, said: “The contest aims to revive interest in the poetic heritage in easy, voluble and fluent Nabatean. It also aims to enhance awareness among community members and acquaint them with the services provided by various departments of Abu Dhabi Police.”
She noted that the contest will be aired three times a week at midday via Emarat FM during the first half of Ramadan, and twice a week during the second half of the holy month. “Financial prizes will be awarded equally to the winners of each contest,” she added.
Furthermore, Ms. Al Rumaithi praised the Emirati poet Rashid bin Yadah Al Mansouri who has penned verses of Nabatean poetry for each contest, which were recorded in the Radio Branch studio at the Security Media Department. She indicated that Emarat FM has been chosen to promote this contest, due to its extensive reach, coverage and broad audience.
