(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Celgene Corporation (NASDAQ: CELG) today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved POMALYST® brand therapy (pomalidomide) for patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least two prior therapies including lenalidomide and bortezomib and have demonstrated disease progression on or within 60 days of completion of the last therapy.

Approval is based on response rate. Clinical benefit, such as improvement in survival or symptoms, has not been verified.

Supporting the approval were the results of MM-002, a phase II, randomized, open-label study evaluating pomalidomide (4 mg once daily on days 1-21 of each 28-day cycle) plus low-dose dexamethasone (40 mg per day given only on Days 1, 8, 15 and 22 of each 28-day cycle for patients 75 years or younger, or 20 mg per day given only on Days 1, 8, 15 and 22 of each 28-day cycle for patients greater than 75 years of a ... Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502) today announced that it has started sample shipments of a 64-gigabyte (GB) embedded NAND flash memory module, the first in the industry equipped with a UFS I/F. The module is fully compliant with the JEDEC UFS Ver.1.1 standard[3] and is designed for application in a wide range of digital consumer products, including smartphones, tablet PCs.

Samples are mainly intended for evaluation of UFS I/F and its protocol in host chipsets and by OS vendors.

62 percent of consumers tap smartphone hotspot capabilities; worry around cost, usability and plan options persists

Sixty-two percent of smartphone users leverage their devices’ hotspot capabilities, an increase of nine percent since May 2012, according to a new survey of more than 700 mobile consumers in the U.S. Despite the increase in adoption, many consumers are still concerned with the cost, usability and lack of plan options available with smartphone hotspots, and carriers are missing key opportunities to monetize personal hotspots.
