General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior offered on Friday afternoon his profound condolences to the bereaved Salem family in the Ozon area, on the sad demise of their son Ahmed who drowned in a bid to rescue a number of Asian children swimming off Ras Al Khaimah.

His Highness lauded the deceased’s courage and bravery; "a distinguished feature of all Emirati society,” he said. He emphasized that the noble humanitarian spirit and sense of duty prompted the quick-thinking young man to intervene immediately, in a bid to save the distressed children, only to lose his life in the process.
